MONTREAL — Police regained control of the downtown core early Thursday after firing tear gas at hundreds of bottle-tossing youths who looted businesses following the Montreal Canadiens’ Game 7 victory in Pittsburgh.
The vandalism occurred after most of the tens of thousands...

Recap of Blackhawks v Preds game 5
I went to the game with 3 of my buddies. We had no clue what we were in store for…
This game was a 2:00 PM start on a Saturday for the record.
We get there to discover a already moderately to heavily boozed up middle aged man sitting in the row in front of us. The moment we got to our seats “Lenny” as we have called him, turns to me and says “what a move by the...
Go Get 'em today Erin!
that is all.
How to improve the Cubs
It has been bad people, real bad. 5-9 start against the teams they have played is horrific. It has been the same old story. They have issues with the lineup and huge problems in the bullpen. There is enough time and enough talent for the Cubs to turn this thing around. However, they would have to take some action and quickly. I believe a combination of using your young players and acquiring...
Go Cubs GOooo
The Cubs got their first win on the 2010 season yesterday. 2-0 over the Braves. It was a huge win because you don’t want to start the season getting swept. Randy Wells was great and so was Caridad. Tyler Colvin hit his 1st career HR and Marolon Byrd hit his 2nd of the season. Cubs win Cubs win.
With that said, this team needs to score more. They are looking a lot like the 2009 version...
ouch
Big Z sucked
Samardjza was awful
Soriano cant hit
the umps missed a dropped ball. That did’t matter to the outcome but come on. I expect a major league umpire crew to get that one right.
White Sox fans in the city acting like they went 162-0 and won the World Series. It’s one fucking game morons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I’m going to watch Butler try and win a national title.
A few Cubs thoughts
Tom Gorzelanny has been pitching very well since he started working with Greg Maddux. I think he could be setting himself up for a nice season
Tyler Colvin could really help the ball club if he is for real.
The bullpen makes me nervous
Carlos Silva still sucks no matter what you read
If this team stays healthy they are a threat to win this division
Milwaukee has no pitching, ST. Louis is way...

Bears Offseason
So far the offseason has been horrific.
-A guy you were counting on to start died
-After swearing massive changes you promoted from within for the D Coordinator
-Hired Mike Martz to run the offense
I don’t like the hiring of Mike Martz. I don’t feel like Martz’s scheme will play in Chicago. It failed in Detroit and in San Fransisco. Martz’s offense requires perfect...
Big Day Today
My fiance has an interview today for a better job at her current company. So please wish her well. She is awesome and would be so much better that the smug, gross, fake bitch she us up against. Good luck babe I know you will do great!
More Proof that Lane Kiffin is an ass hole
Lane Kiffin has extended a scholarship offer to a 7th grader. That’s right 13 year old 7th grade QB says he is “committed” to USC and Lane Kiffin for the 2015 class. If this kid flames out and ends up not being as good as people think will Kiffin still honor the offer he made? We all know better. If this kids turns out to rub at playing qb the “scholarship offer”...

Lane Kiffin is such a douche
Okay, I hate a lot of people in sports. However, none more than Lane Kiffin. It has been a long time since someone has accomplished so much without ever having to earn any of it! He is a liar, cheat and a phony. Let’s take a look at reasons why he is such an asshole.
If Lane was not a “Kiffin” he would be a below average citizen working some bush-league job. He is a member...
Xavier Nady welcome to the north side.
I see Jim Hendry has been reading my blog again. Great pick up for the Cubs today. Nady fits in great and has a lot of upside.
Shaping the 2010 Cubs Roster- Lineup
The 2010 version of the Chicago Cubs have strengths and weaknesses. However, the weakness can be fixed with low money guys still available right now. The cubs need a true lead-off hitter, an everyday 2nd baseman, and an outfielder with some pop. The easy thing to do would be to write about a trade for Brian Roberts to fill 2 of those holes. But that is just not going to happen. So let’s...
Shaping the 2010 Cubs Roster- Pitching
For the most part this team is set. However, there are a few very important decisions still to be made. And a few strategic moves could make all the difference in 2010. Lets start with pitching…
Projected Starters:
1. Carlos Zambrano
2. Ted Lilly*
3. Ryan Dempster
4. Randy Wells
5. Tom Gorzelanny**
* Ted Lilly will be out until May at the earliest. Until he gets back, one of the...
Who Should lead the Bears Offense
The named candidates are..
Mike Martz
-Is an awful fit in Chicago. Other than half a season as Offensive Coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers in 2008, Martz has not coached an outdoor team since 1998. In that 2008 year, he was fired half way through the season by Mike Singletary. Martz’s “greatest show on turf” offense was very successful with the Rams in the early...

The Florida Gators are a fraud
College football has no playoff. Some argue that the entire season is a playoff since one loss, 99% of the time, eliminates you from national championship contention. Unless you were in the preseason top 5 and lost early enough in the year you can come back and play for the title. (See last year’s Florida Gators). The BCS is an “unbiased” computer formula that uses all of the...
2 reasons MLB GM's are no talent ass clowns
1. They think that guys that can run fast are good.
2. They keep signing guys that can run fast but can’t hit or field or think.
White Sox have fun with your new addition- “Fast” Freddie Bynum
Blue Jays enjoy Joey Gathright. He has failed at such high level organizations as the
Tampa Bay “Devil” Rays (not the “Rays” who got good)
Baltimore Orioles

Big Week
There is a lot going on this week. The MLB winter meetings where the Cubs should rid themselves of the malcontent that is Milton Bradley. Also, it looks like Jack Swarbrick has listened to one of the 4,356,893 voice mails I left him and is negotiating with Brian Kelly and could have a deal in place by Friday. If you would have told me that by the end of the week I would no longer have to worry...
Steven Seagal Law man

When things go bad they go real bad. But I think his contract will save him in the end.

So long Charlie Weis
It’s about time. The worst 3 year stretch in the history of Notre Dame football is over. The man responsible is no longer roaming the sidelines in South Bend.
Interesting note, for as great as Jimmy Clausen has been he is Notre Dame’s all time leader in losses as a starting qb. Before you feel bad for him Steve Beuerlein is #2 on the list, and he had a 15 year NFL career.

A note to Jack Swarbrick, Notre Dame's AD
Dear Jack,

Please tell me that Eric Hansen ate too much Turkey and took a nap. He then woke up and just slapped this thing together before his deadline. Please tell me there is no truth to this.
I hope his ”university source” is actually his dog. Not a person with inside information on your coaching...
Thanksgiving
Erin, Riley and I went to my parents house for Turkey day. It was great to see everyone. Riley was laying in her dog bed in the living room when my niece Addie crawled in and started cuddling with her. They both laid in the bed for about 30 minutes. It was pretty cute. Riley ended up putting her head on Addie’s legs. She only got up when I started packing up the car to come back...
Brian Kelly the perfect fit for Notre Dame
With all the names circulating about the possible replacements for the soon to be fired Charlie Weis none are a better fit than Brian Kelly of Cincinnati. Brian Kelly has been a head coach at the college level for the last 18 years. He has moved up the ranks the hard way. By winning football games and hard work. Kelly is exactly what Weis is not, a true leader and motivator. Here is a recap...
Charlie Weis
Well it is very obvious that Charlie’s days in South Bend are over. That is great news for the Notre Dame football program. I don’t really feel the need to pile on here. If you know me, you have heard me go off ad nauseum about Weis’ coaching. His teams are undisciplined, predictable, sloppy and unmotivated. With that said I do want to be one of the few people to point on...
UConn 33 Notre Dame 27
Another Saturday, another frustrating performance by the Irish. This time ND found a way to lose in double overtime to a UConn team that had a losing record heading into the game. Granted, UConn had played everyone really well. However, teams lose those games for a reason. The same reasons why an ultra-talented ND team is now 6-4 and 4-5 in games decided by 7 points or less.
Congrats to...

Ireland v. France decided by handball
After a bunch of trips to Europe I have grown to love soccer. Being that I am Irish, I am a huge fan of those national team. (Don’t worry team USA is still my favorite)
Anyway below is a video of how the World Cup Qualifying playoff game between Powerhouse France and the underdog Irish was decided. A blatant handball by French star Thierry Henry set up the goal that put France into the...
EIU Football
My first rant will be directed at my Alma mater Eastern Illinois. Who found a way the shit the bed last night against Tennessee State. A couple frat bros from Eastern came over to watch the game since it was in ESPNU and was the first time EIU got a sniff at being televised. I now know why.
